On September 12 a Sikh gas station owner the next town over was savagely beaten to an inch from death because his attackers thought he was a Muslim



I want the America of September 12th, 2001 back. There was no party. There was no color or race. There was only unity. There was only freedom loving Americans.

However, the Republicans very quickly exploited 9-11 to pursue their neoconservative foreign policy agenda and to go after Democrats that tried to defend the rights of Muslim Americans (and all Americans, when it came to things like the Patriot Act).
