She said that voters need to decide whether they prefer Republicans, who are always on the same page no matter what, and Democrats "who are always fighting."

Of people who might otherwise be educated enough, concerned enough, and motivated enough to battle the rightwing / corporatist power structure that replaced our democracy.

I watch it and consciously think I’m learning what is going on, getting informed; but I’m also. Passively absorbing certain underlying and subconscious messages such as 1) The Personality and corruption of one man is What Matters, 2) the problems are monstrous, systemic and almost hopeless to solve, 3) wringing our hands and hoping that fellow Americans will vote for Democrats is the pinnacle of activism... etc.

The outrage over trump’s actions is justified but does the format just get us used to powerless hopelessness?
