Trump, making no sense at all, claims that 25 years ago "there was nobody here" in America, and therefore air and water was cleaner than it is now. Twenty five years ago was 1994.

Here's the quote in full:

“Let’s say the history of our country over the last 25 years, I would say that the first few years they probably had cleaner air and cleaner water because there was nobody here."

I understand that with the Madman, there will be times he'll be told something by someone else, and he doesn't quite remember it word for word, but rather than trying to verify what was actually said to him, he'll just regurgitate out whatever the hell he thinks he heard regardless of how accurate it is.

Like when he claimed the Soviet-Afghan war was about the Soviets "fighting terrorism." Clearly he heard that line from Putin and rather than look into its accuracy, he just decided to pass that one along because...well, Putin said it.

But this....I don't even know where this came from. It's so stunningly bizarre that I can't even make sense of it.

He is saying that:

1. He is removing clean water restrictions....
2. .....because 25 years ago.....
3. ......which was in 1994.....
4. ......"there was nobody here" in the United States...
5. .....even though the US's estimated population in 1994 was 263.4 million....
6 ........and according to him......
7. ..........there was supposedly clean water back then.....
8. .................which justifies removing restrictions now because......
9. ............................
10. ......................................
11. .....................................?????????????????..................

and that is pretty much ruled out.

If he were saying that the most recent 25 year period was the 'cleanest' period since the founding of the USA (and before that there was no industry, and a lot fewer people), then that might even be justifiable, if you're thinking in terms of the conditions in cities. But the credit for that would have to go mainly to previous governments like Clinton's, Bush's and Obama's, and there's no way he'd want to give them that. Perhaps that was what someone said to him once, and he decided that meant he was responsible for everything that happened in the USA since the 90s?
