Here's why I think Trump was willing to release the "transcript "

I have little doubt that Trump directly colluded with Russia in the 2016 election , and probably did it in much the same way as he's now dealing with Ukraine. Mueller didn't exonerate him of such behavior, but only reported that he couldn't come up with sufficient evidence to prove collusion.

Trump's too stupid to understand the distinction and may think that Muller gave him a free pass to continue that behavior, so he thinks it's perfectly fine to continue doing it in plain sight.

arrogance in the extreme! He believes he can successfully spin this.

This is the problem with letting him get away with so much for so long.

Any parent knows this!

for anything was a fine.

It probably doesn't even occur to him that he might get anything more severe.

problem. These particular persons will continue to commit crimes since they know they won't get charged, so why not? Another serious reason why this stupid DOJ ruling that sitting presidents can't be indicted should be tossed out the door.

Repubs are going to roll over the Dems in these proceedings if we (DUers or otherwise) do not let go of these false terms being tossed around today such as verbatim and quid pro quo.

.... was due to OBSTRUCTION!

I don't understand why the media never reports it this way. It is all in the Report. There was so much obstruction, it worked, and they couldn't get to the truth. All we are left with is obstruction.
