I think GOP dumping Trump for Romney!
Trump already got them what they wanted. He went too far for any of them with his immigration actions and the kids in cages, missing kids, etc.
Romney getting ready to run once Trump out of the way. They will run on economy and we will lose. You heard it here first.

1. Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!
You're predicting that the vulture capitalist will emerge as the next GOP leader and Romney will wind up as POTUS after the 2020 election?

he'll be going down too! And then of course, it will be President Pelosi until the election in 2020

the WH and simultaneously tries to rehabilitate the gop.

No way will they stick with milquetoast Pence and Mother. Rmoney sees an opportunity if Leningrad Lindsey doesn't get in his way.

18. William Weld? He has already been running against Trump
He was governor of Massachusetts. He is sane.
So who is his running mate? Maybe they do need Karen Pence. |

10. I do agree they see the writing on the wall and want to get their people in the 2020
elections. I also think the repubs who have "retired" have been paid their silver for making so many rich people richer. They are going away very well off.

11. I've been thinking about this
Republicans in the Senate won’t vote to impeach Trump and Pence if it means President Pelosi. But maybe some kind of deal could be reached involving impeaching a Trump and having someone serve as President until the next election. Condition: They would be a placeholder and not allowed to run in 2020.
I have no idea who such a person would/could be, but I think there are more Republicans willing to get rid of Trump than are letting on. We need to cultivate that somehow. |

12. The constitution doesn't allow for a placeholder
Maybe Trump resigns. Pence takes his place. An agreed upon VP is confirmed. And then Pence resigns. It could all happen in a matter of minutes.

13. Yes, I think if there's an agreement, there could be a way to make it happen
They may need to get creative with the way they do it, as you describe.

20. uh, the procedure in the Constitution is this.
Trump out. Pence appoints and the Senate confirms a new VP.
Then if Pence is given the heave-ho after that. That new VP becomes president. Only way Nancy becomes president is if Trump and Pence are sent packing at the same time. However after the impeachment of Trump the Congress could appoint Hillary Speaker of the House, then impeach Pence and then Hillary becomes President. Just sayin'. |

21. Sorry, but no.
I don't see any Republicans turning on Trump over his immigration actions. MAGAts love his immigration actions. Many of them consider his immigration actions orgasmic.

23. Romney would be a fool to run now - the GOP is toxic
I don't believe he'd be stupid enough to run and lose twice. He'd be all out of chances because there wouldn't be a third try for him.
Whoever runs as a presidential candidate for the GOP will LOSE, that's a given. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
