How about this strategy

Assuming I haven't missed a procedural requirement... why not subpoena Trump to testify right away.

If he refuses (which he will) that immediately puts him in the "what is he hiding" narrative.

If he testifies, it puts him on record as to what, when, how etc. The remainder of the investigation will be a perjury risk for him. Not to mention that we would love to see his Colonel Jessup impression.

I think it is a given we want to see Rudy testify. Why not Trump himself?

In case I'm wrong and it did happen, I'd want to see him questioned in open session, and with the committee coming back on each and every lie, including playing appropriate video showing what he said in the past.

However, even if it were to happen that way, he has no thought that something like perjury would apply to him.
