And today, when he had a chance to face up to his failure, he failed again.
He needs to resign and leave all public service.

(22,513 posts)In corruption for as long as the people who were able to confront the utter assault on the constitution. He made the wrong choice in referring the matter to WH counsel and the DoJ. He didn't foresee the lawlessness practiced by this govt. It's difficult to identify evil when it's not part of one's nature or personal experience. A normal person expects some degree of fairness, an interest in obtaining rule of law. Unfortunately, that's not the world he's working in.

(1,002 posts)He tried to balance himself on both sides of the fence: display his loyalty first by going to the White House/DOJ (one and the same), then, when it was revealed, he praised the Whistleblower when confronted. What a coward! He knew that he was suppose to present the complaint to Congress but he wimped out! A complete disgrace!!!!

(3,741 posts)to following orders for his entire life. Part of this paradigm is that the 'chain of command' is most important. If a person is a lower rank, then they always go to the higher command with a situation that they can't decide. Maguire is the ultimate bureaucrat, never thinks for themselves. He should never have been placed in the position he now holds.
