If we end up with Warren as our nominee and that’s her platform we will not get people with good union benefits voting to trade it for Medicare for all.

I want a cheap public option for people to opt in if they want to. But I don’t want to give up my current benefits.

If there is a public option, the private health insurers will just price sick people out their market. What would happen is all the less healthy would end up on Medicare. Why national health care works is because the many take care of the sick. Most people are not in dire straits medically, but many are and they need to be taken care of. You may pay pay pay now and not really use a lot of medical care (if you are lucky), but it's calming knowing IF something bad happens you don't have to choose between your health and your house or food? Public option sucks. I am sorta glad we didn't go there. I do guess it is better than nothing because at least people would avoid bankruptcy, but the costs will be much higher than the "private alternative", which would then be used by propagandists to "prove" capitalism does it better.
