Congressman Francis Rooney (R-FL) announces support for impeachment inquiry

BREAKING: GOP Congressman Francis Rooney announces support for impeachment inquiry, citing Mulvaney’s disastrous press conference: “I want to get the facts and do the right thing. Because I’ll be looking at my children a lot longer than I’m looking at anybody in this building.”

in Rooney and Amash, we can call it a bipartisan impeachment.

I don't know whether others will follow and there will be some on here who will diminish it. But it sounds like he is looking to his conscience and we can hope that others will do the same.

He tends to be off a lot.. like the Palmer Report etc.

Here is the CNN video and Daily Beast article

https://www.thedailybeast.com/gop-rep-rooney-wont-rule-out-impeachment-its-certainly-clear-there-was-quid-pro-quo

This prompted the CNN anchor to press Rooney on the issue of impeachment, noting that he had said it was “very clear” there was a quid pro quo as it relates to Ukraine.

“I don’t know. I want to study it more,” he responded. “I want to hear the next set of testimony next week from a couple more ambassadors. But it’s certainly very, very serious and troubling.”

GOP lawmaker on impeachment: Rep. Francis Rooney, a Republican from Florida, would not rule out the prospects of supporting impeaching the President. He called Mulvaney's acknowledgment about withholding Ukraine aid "troubling," saying it is "not a good thing" to do that in connection "with threatening foreign leaders."

I am in favor of finding out all of the factual information available in this process that is already underway. I did not endorse an impeachment inquiry.
