(17,205 posts)A New Mexico school resource officer has resigned after allegedly using excessive force against an 11-year-old girl who he alleges "took more milks than she was supposed to" from the cafeteria.
Lapel video of the Aug. 27 incident involving Farmington police officer Zach Christensen, an 11-year veteran of the department released Monday, appears to show him shoving the crying sixth grader into a wall.
The child then falls to the ground and Christensen can be heard yelling, "Stop resisting" multiple times. The officer continues to struggle with the girl, not allowing her to stand up while asking her to put her hands behind her back.
At one point, as Christiansen stands over the girl, gripping her arm, a school administrator intervenes, saying, Officer Christiansen, she is not a threat to yourself or others.
If he was her parent he would be jailed.
Apparently she is a special needs child.
That officer's time would have been better spent in the SCIF today arresting all those drunken assholes in suits.

(19,038 posts)It would have taken every ounce of restraint to not pick up a brick and run up and smash that monsters head open if I had witnessed that. Hes a grown man brutalizing an 11 year old girl. He deserves jail and he deserves to lose everything.

(5,123 posts)A thoughtful thing would have been to find out why the child took the extra milk? Is she hungry? Does she have enough food at home? Shit, offer to pay for the damn milk. Those cartons cost how much?
To rough her up and treat her this way is sickening. He is unfit to be around children. Unfit to hold any kind of law enforcement position.

(19,564 posts)What's the matter with people not understanding an adult man, supposedly trained for crisis situations, not being able to out think a preteen girl?! He had to take her down... it was his only defense when threatened by a serial bus standing - milk junkie! Then she dared to pick at a poster on the wall and push away the principlal's hand while this brave officer was baiting her for doing such? We all know how dangerous 11-year old milk junkies are, right? Right?! She was a keg of dynamite about to blow!
Is this necessary?
This makes me sick. Emotionally and physically.
