(128,905 posts)Have been watching CSPAN3 and the Rules committee markup of the resolution they will vote on tomorrow!
If this is so, I wanted to add that for Bolton? Revenge is a dish served cold.

Is that the one? Or does it have to do with the impeachment inquiry?

(81,237 posts)That helps a LOT!
Everything to me these days is about an ask. Working in my Indivisible group, weve got a pretty hot little Research & Writing team chugging along with this stuff. And we always need the facts WITH whatever ask it is, in case anyone wants more info or background info. Every ask that we write, that people can use to call their Congressmember or Senator about, comes with links to the info we used.
Links like those in your post literally have our backs. MANY thanks!

An attorney accepting service on behalf of a client just means that the client doesn't have to be personally served.

I'm also just a bit skeptical of Bolton.

(4,341 posts)I don't like Bolton, but as I like to be objective I will say something in his favour. Yes, he is a bit crazy, but he is knowledgeable of international affairs, and I believe he had an awakening while dancing around the creature, you could see in his face when he spoke about situations in different countries that he was upset about the stupidity of the creature.
He is also an angry man, and the creature hit him where it hurts the most, his pride, so I believe he is going all out to tell the stories that will out the final nail on the impeachment.
I am staying positive, I hope I am right.
TruckFump
(5,812 posts)Trump embarrassed him...and I do not think he took that lightly.

(6,857 posts)It's not honor exactly, but it is a form of honor. Evil isn't all alike. There are different kinds of evil. And I think Bolton's evil is of a kind that cannot stomach Trump's kind.
But who could have guessed that "hostile witness" may just mean a war hawk?

(1,816 posts)I don't think John Bolton has any love of Russia.
I think he knows what Russia has on Trump and why Trump is subservient to Putin.
Bolton knows what went on in Ukraine.
I think he will turn on Trump.
I think impeachment was always in the back of the Republican establishment's minds when Trump became their nominee. They knew he was a loose cannon.
They forced Pence as a VP on Trump in exchange for their support.
If Trump need to be impeached then Pence was a viable alternative for them

(15,286 posts)is that in service of Bolton's ideas of foreign policy.
Bolton probably felt he was so smart and such a brilliant bureaucratic fighter, he could impose his hawkish, war-mongering views on Trump. He already had a head start with Trump's strong support of Israel and hatred of Iran.
Turns out he didn't count on Trump's ability to do whatever he wants no matter what and found out first hand about Rick Wilson's ETTD theory.
Bolton was unceremoniously dumped and, in so many words, promised revenge. This is his chance.
I do think the Dem staff will have to take care to frame their questions to limit him taking pot shots at them in his answers.

(73,537 posts)This is good news.
Those identifying Bolton as our enemy are correct. Those calling him a war monger are, too. And whoever says the worst things about him on this thread needs to double his/her insults. And Bolton is still a lot worse than that.
However, in this case, it is important that he testify. We likely won't agree with some of what he says. But he will help document the important things. That's not because we are on the same team. We definitely are not. But we currently recognize a common opponent.
