NANCY PELOSI WARNS DONALD TRUMP IMPEACHMENT WILL BE 'IRONCLAD,' SAYS HOUSE ALREADY HAS ENOUGH EVIDENCE
https://www.newsweek.com/nancy-pelosi-trump-impeachment-house-evidence-ukraine-1468865
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she believes there is already enough evidence to justify moving forward with the impeachment of President Donald Trump over his Ukraine conduct.
The House is due to vote Thursday on a resolution that formalizes the current impeachment inquiry, setting out its scope and terms. Republican lawmakers had accused Democrats of mishandling the inquiry by not putting it to a vote.
Trump allegedly pressured Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to open potentially damaging and spurious investigations into the Democratic Party and former Vice President Joe Biden, a leading candidate for the 2020 nomination, for his own political benefit.

"When we decide if we are going to go forward, we will be ready, and we will be ironclad," Pelosi, a California Democrat, told The Atlantic, referring to an eventual vote on specific articles of impeachment before the process heads to the Senate for a trial.

(18,837 posts)...I'm sure that there will be Republican Senators willing to go down with the ship when it hits the Senate. Hope I'm wrong. Hope enough of them find their conscience and vote to remove this scumbag from office.

(70,635 posts)... down w/Trump most of them will jump ship. Except for the ones who took Russian money,*
visited Russia on July the 4th, 2018, or are being blackmailed by Trump/Russian/Ukrainian/
Mobsters aka kompromat. See Lindsey Graham.
* some who took Russian money did it through the NRA like Ohio's Rob Portman.

(18,837 posts)MSNBC, on any given day, is rampant with third-party anecdotes from Republicans who "say in private" that they think Trump is an idiot, incompetent, and not liked at all.
It's all about self-preservation. Once that's in danger, all bets are off.

(70,635 posts)Trump has a 20 to 25% base that will almost never leave him no matter what he did or is
still doing and that is because he, Trump, has scratched their racist itches aka you can use
the n****r word again. I know a person who isn't bothered at all by the Trump/Russia
election rigging ties but is still worried about Hillary having somebody killed in order to hide
Bill's cocaine operation. Hate radio, Fox News, social media, right wing web sites, and "their
pastors" have cooked a lot of people's brains. We are now 30+ years after "they" got rid of
Fairness Doctrine and the rich and right wing have used that to their advantage.

(31,227 posts)Adam Schiff said this from the start: Republicans will support Trump as long they get something in return.
You can bet there's a magic number of lifetime judicial appointments corporate-controlled-deep-state-conservatives have their eye on on. That's why the sham continues. Impeachment? Felonies? Traitorous acts? Trump's base doesn't believe it, and if it's even more likely they don't even know what's going on.

(8,944 posts)Pendejo45 from the presidency if the vote is closed (i.e. don't know how each Senator voted).
But if it's an open vote (know how each Senator voted), they will not have enough.
As long as they can't be tied to kicking out our Pendejo, they don't mind giving him the boot.
But tie them to breaking their loyalty oath, they'll vote to keep the devil they know.

(43,448 posts)I'm wondering. Republicans deny everything. The evidence, the truth, the Mueller Report, the lies, the quid pro quo.
Could Democrats, or should they, behave like that? I mean when Trump is impeached, if the Anti-American Republican Senators refuse to convict .... could the House declare him guilty? I mean the whole country knows, any thinking slob with half a brain knows, and the GOP Senate would be laughed off the stage and reviled every bit as much as Trump.
Just musings .........
