It's my belief that the GOP is hiding something big. This isn't just about Trump loyalty.

All of this distraction and obstruction being thrown out there by the right wing
has to involve something bigger than "Trump Loyalty", or simple party loyalty.

What are your thoughts on what they are trying to prevent exposure on?

Mueller and his people never seemed to do that.

And nobody has done so since. There have been separate efforts on the Trump inauguration, Trump Foundation & Trump emoluments for example.

We've been stymied with Trumps tax returns and financial docs and the redactions to the Mueller report along with it's supporting evidence.

But nobody seems to chase down the "Putin pays Trump" discussion between Paul Ryan, McCarthy, etc
https://www.washingtonpost.com/apps/g/page/national/read-the-transcript-of-the-conversation-among-gop-leaders-obtained-by-the-post/2209/
and the Russian money through the NRA, etc

We now have a bit more with Rudy Giuliani and his two thugs ...

There seem to be some investigative black holes where we hear things and then they kind of disappear.

There is something missing. Maybe Nancy Pelosi knows what it is and is waiting for the right time .. who knows?

Ironically they think he will protect him, when the fact is he will most likely toss them all under the bus if he can make some kind of a deal to save himself.

All those repubs believe they will be one of them when this coup is over. Sort of like believing they will be one of those taken to heaven when the end comes. They think so highly of themselves they are sure they will be part of the ruling class (trump probably told them that much) and having taken their money they are already obeying orders. They even likely believe Putin will share power.

Today I saw where a representative R used a prop calling the Democrats Soviets. We should probably stop saying "Russia" and use the word "Soviet" instead. Like, we need to investigate the "Soviet" contributions to the republicans.

to have any interest in not continuing them. I'm guessing none of the leaders could even if they wanted, in part for much the same reason the auto executives all rode their gravy train to the end -- anyone trying to stop it was thrown off. They will either hang together or hang separately.

But why on earth would they want to stop when they've come so far, too far to turn back? Their self images depend on continued victories that validate their tactics and goals in their own minds. And of course both their safety from consequences and the rewards of the power and wealth they seek depend on winning.

And that depends on continuing their fascistic smashing of laws and norms until they do. As you suggest, I believe for those in today's Republican leadership it's their nature, and that only partially unleashed so far.

These are forces of organized crime that have taken over. They are doing it in order to raid the treasury. We will never know how much they stole.

But here's how the mob works that people discount. The mob gets their hooks into people or businesses and they do it by sharing risk. They bought the entire GOP and now control them this way. They funneled illegal Russian money into scores of GOP campaigns, and they gave sweet heart business deals to family and friends of all key Republicans. And now that they're in power, they are incriminating every single one of them with illegal cash and illegal contracts. Once you're in, there is no way out because the way out goes through jail. That's how it all works, they are all at risk of jail now, so they will be loyal.

And I think it was Auntie Maxine who made a terse comment that if and when all was exposed to the American public, they would be shaken to their very core. I have thought about that often over these last years, and especially now that things ARE coming to light at last. I have always believed that GOP was up to their eyeballs in the whole mess, from the lowliest congresscritter to Turtle, from Anthony Kennedy to "I like beer"man. When the depth and breadth of GOP malevolence is fully exposed, it will shake the country. But we have to know, the sunlight must be shown on them all. Russia seems to have gotten its meathooks in the Republican Party and nearly all of them are compromised one way or another.
