Would it be legal to pass a law prohibiting "social media" from...

.... accepting political ads? If 'yes,' would it be a good idea? Sounds great to me.

2. Nope. Restricting the speech of private publishers violates

the First Amendment. The Internet and things published on it are part of "The Press," which is specifically named in the Constitution.

3. "Congress shall make no law....."

The only reasons restrictions can be imposed on broadcast TV and radio is because the FCC owns the frequencies.
