A little kindness goes a long way. We all have our share of bad days; of aggravations large and

small. And, it is easy to bring that baggage with us when we log on to DU. But, let us please, if we can, take a deep breath, remember that (just about) everyone here shares our goals and our vision of what our nation should be.

Some of us are experts in specific fields; some of us have the wisdom and experience that comes with age; some of us have the enthusiasm and fresh ideas that seem to be the special province of youth. All of us have something worthwhile to contribute. All of us are entitled be heard. All of us are entitled to respect.

Sometimes we are teachers. Sometimes we are learners.

Arrogance, condescension, intolerance and snark are the other side's game.

A little kindness goes a long way.

in a nasty mood most days and absolutely have to check myself before I leave the apartment. Everyone asks how I'm feeling, my kids call and will travel 50 miles to go shopping, etc. for me. What do I have to complain about really except my own pain and illness. It's amazing when I come home after all of the kind words and thoughts I receive from my neighbors, my bad attitude is gone. Thanks Atticus for your wonderful post, I'm now woke..LOL.

enduring. Hers had a "peak" that lasted 3 or 4 days and then took another couple of weeks to very gradually subside. As her "eruptions" involved one side of her face and scalp, she had the added concern of whether or not her eye would be impacted. It was not and there was no residual scarring.

I hope yours subsides soon and becomes just another experience which showed you how strong you are.

May we all have the patience to word things in ways that reflect that we are the good guys.
