Which Trump scandal disgusts you the most?

Have to go with caging children and for some reason abandoning the Kurds and leaving a great ally to death, torture and destruction for HIS fucking monetary benefit really shook me. He is a fucking murderer to protect his fucking money! I don't have the energy think of all of them tonight but those two are seared into my brain and pretty horrific.

The specific actions that are well-known are appalling, but the longest lasting damage we will suffer as a nation is the complete gutting of the executive branch.

Passing laws is meaningless when executive agencies have been rendered too dysfunctional to implement or enforce them.

The damage he has done will take a monumental effort to undo.

He can scam the presidency for all the money he wants, but torturing children and fucking over the most democratic progressive ally we had in the middle east is not acceptable.

Remember that whole 'spreading democracy in the middle east' bullshit that BushCo peddled to us in order to invade Iraq?

The Kurds WERE FUCKING DOING IT. And Trump stabbed them in the back and left them to genocide at the hands OF A NATO STATE. Let that really sink in.

And if this Constitutional Lobotomy of a presidency isn't handled appropriately by Congress, imma finish my college degree and get the hell out of here. I'll go to Toronto n work for minimum wage (at this point, I'm fucking used to it...)

Fri Nov 8, 2019, 01:29 AM
Nov 2019

The Ukraine conspiracy is a fundamental betrayal of every principle America stands for as well as an attempt to subvert democracy and the rule of law in both Ukraine and the United States. This is also proof positive that, if Putin doesn't have a pee-pee tape, then Trump at least see the world through Putin's eyes.

Trump's malign treatment of Puerto Rico, and California to a lesser extent show an evil, cruel and fact-impervious hatred of fellow Americans that is downright scary.

Kids in cages? Point taken. Trump's treatment of migrants checks off many of the boxes of a potential genocide.

Betrayal of the Kurds? Subjecting a proven ally to ethic cleansing with the added benefit of putting America's interests, credibility and world standing to the torch? That's a high crime too, but the Ukraine scandal tried to bring this corruption onto American soil. That puts it over the top for me.

My picks have been mentioned, but I also think about the rollback in clean air and water, allowing plants to dump fine and deadly particulate into the air that was previously banned.

This morning a woman will have a miscarriage and not know why. Children will suffer the first attack of asthma. Some young man or women with no signs of cardiovascular disease will suffer a stroke or heart attack while jogging because of particulate that wouldn't have been allowed in the air under prior administrations. A baby will be born near a row of oil refineries in Texas of extremely low birth weight or possibly other challenges. Fine particulate will land in the lungs of people that in ten, twenty years will be diagnosed as cancer. Nobody will know for sure what caused these things, and nobody could ever prove it.

That's not my pick for most disgusting scandal, but just thought it deserved to be mentioned.

it would have to be his immigration policies and everything associated with it- between the caging of kids in sub-par conditions, as well as his phony declaration of a national emergency to seize funds intended for other things for his stupid "wall"

Globally- It would have to be his abandonment of the Kurds and our agreements in general, as well as alienating all of our major global allies.

In short, there is no good governance coming from this WH and the fact that the American economy is doing ok is more IN SPITE OF Trump rather than BECAUSE of it IMHO. There's really nothing that is happening in Trump's WH that has been even remotely good for the country- except for the racists and other bigots here. They're being put back on the pedestal they were "losing" under President Obama.

Fri Nov 8, 2019, 03:41 PM
Nov 2019

Instead of policies that get at the root cause of folks so desperate to come to the this country and ways to ameliorate such, he uses their misery for show, exacerbates the problem, all the while pretending that they are at fault for economic weaknesses that are actually caused by automation, income inequality caused by stubborn effects of trickle down bs, etc. Pushes racism and cruelty as simple answers to complicated problems while the underlying economic factors plod ahead, unaddressed. For what? One more yacht for a crony donor?

The damage he's exacted upon the children and families is a source of heartache that I'll carry for the rest of my life. How to make things right, or somehow better for his victims is always running in my mind.

Then, on top of all that is flaunting of spoiled privilege as he ignores numerous laws built up over likely millions of manhours of work over the many decades. Laws mean nothing to him, as he puts a tiki torch to the value of good governance. He is so wasteful of time, effort, and lives of the people who actually do the work to make the world around him work. On this point, I must mention the Kurds. His betrayal of them burns white hot in my chest.

I should probably lead with us losing time and ground for combating climate change, but that's connected to everything I've already mentioned. Imo, we can't, as a society, take on a difficult future if we can't respect the lives of all the people around us who can help everyone thrive. We've never had more answers to human problems than right now, and shame on the republicon party for choosing to withhold this truth for the benefit of the relative few that would benefit from their arcane cruelty and waste.

Off the top of my head, I’d say the most disgusting scandal with Trump is that he got elected to the Presidency at all. Zero experience, a record of sleaze a mile long (in a sane world, Trump’s mob ties alone would disqualify him from consideration for any political office), not to mention a loathsome personality all morally decent people find repulsive. It’s a major indictment of the United States, and possibly of democracy itself, that he ever got traction in the primary, let alone that he won.
