Personally, I think the soldier-worship in our culture is overdone.
I don't mean to denigrate veterans, or the service they've given--I just think the rest of us go overboard in glorifying the participation in fighting, and the destruction and killing that goes with it. Let's observe tomorrow for what it originally was--a cessation of killing solely because the other guys wore a different shirt than our guys wore.

France and Britain name it more appropriately.

Armistice Day was intended to celebrate peace, not a wargasm type hero worship holiday.
