Barr said in a speech at a conference hosted by the Federalist Society

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/15/us/politics/barr-impeachment.html

WASHINGTON — Attorney General William P. Barr on Friday vigorously defended President Trump’s use of executive authority and suggested that House Democrats were subverting the will of voters by exploring whether to remove the president from office for abusing his power.

Mr. Trump campaigned on a vow to upend Washington, and voters were aware of his agenda when they elected him president, Mr. Barr said.

“While the president has certainly thrown out the traditional Beltway playbook and punctilio, he was up front about what he wanted to do and the people decided they wanted him to serve as president,” Mr. Barr said in a speech at a conference hosted by the Federalist Society, a conservative legal group influential in Republican politics.

Mr. Trump’s opponents “essentially see themselves as engaged in a war to cripple by any means necessary a duly elected government,” Mr. Barr added.

Whenever I hear someone mention Trump's "agenda" or "what he wanted to do" I just want to scream. Trump HAS no agenda, no ideas, no original thoughts. He isn't doing ONE THING to help anyone in this country who isn't already rich. I just don't get how people can eat up those sound bites and not realize there's no policy behind those talking points.

A Very long transcript and from 2018, but important nonethless. My take? These DOJ authors are laying their case for the free market's complete deregulation and corporate takeover.

They specifically talk about how they lobby all three branches of government, all the way to state and local licensing boards...and public schools.

No. Billy, that's what the republicans tried to do to OBAMA; you're misremembering your own history, buddy...

But I'll allow your idiocy, given a single caveat: let's assume you're correct, and trump is just attempting to 'upend washington'.

Fine. But since when was the breaking of the law a campaign promise (it wasn't...I know, I know, your memory again), and even if it WAS, what say you to that MR ATTORNEY GENERAL?

My conclusion is that you're all criminals, and at this point you're just trying to keep yourself out of a federal prison. Good luck with that.

Trump is like a package of cheese. The shopper picks it up in the store, likes what he sees on the label and puts it in his shopping cart. He pays for the cheese and brings it home. At home, he puts out the crackers, takes out a knife and is all set to enjoy some fine cheese. But alas, once he opens the plastic wrapper the cheese is packaged in, he sees that the cheese is moldy and unfit to eat. He’s disappointed, of course, and plans to return the cheese to the store as soon as he can. The cheese is spoiled and not what he hoped for.

This is similar to Donald Trump. Some people voted for what they thought was a viable candidate for President, who would champion for the average guy and lead the country to further greatness. Oops, once he got elected and started fulfilling his agenda, people have realized he’s like a rotten piece of cheese, unfit for the office he’s in. He needs to be removed from office, as he has shown himself to be a corrupt and damaged leader.

Wish it was as easy as returning moldy cheese, but yeah, we can return a President who’s corrupt and performing poorly. Impeachment is how it’s done.
