@Redistrict
The final margin is likely to be very close. A Dem strategist I just spoke with credits LSU's win vs. Alabama for voters' satisfaction w/ direction of state & Edwards's razor-thin victory. #LAGOV

(7,820 posts)Some (hopefully small number) swing voters voted for the incumbent because they were feeling generally good after the results of a college football game. Which, as I said below, Ill take the dem winning... but eek, thats scary if even a small percentage of voters are that casual in their decision making.

(7,820 posts)But it frightens me a little that this would be the deciding factor for even a small number of voters (that theyre feeling good cause of a sporting game so what the hell, lets keep the status quo)

(6,280 posts)...as another dirty Bobby Jindal. He absolutely drove Louisiana into the ground, and because of his governorship had LSU on the brink of bankruptcy.
From 2015:
The budget outlook for Louisiana State University is so dire that its main campus is drafting a financial exigency planthe university equivalent of bankruptcy. Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindals current budget slashes statewide higher education funding by 82 percent. Speaking about LSUs flagship campus in Baton Rouge, LSU president F. King Alexander said bankruptcy is how we are going to survive.

A lot more to it than just a football game. John Bel Edwards is a champion higher education.
