wealthy people, who literally could spend a million bucks a day, and still not run out of money. Why should the rest of us pay the majority of the bills?

For those lucky enough to have decent jobs.

And yes, fixing tax loopholes would definitely help as well.

As for 'the rest of us' - we are all in this together, and this battle has been going on for decades with not much progress.

UBI would help all but the wealthiest come out ahead.

In some European nations, the wealth tax didn't really work because it didn't follow people when they changed countries (easy to do in Europe) and there were far too many exemptions. Those problems can be resolved. And legal scholars dispute the notion that a wealth tax would be unconstitutional.

I read a quote yesterday from someone named Martha Kelly. She said, "Under capitalism, it's normal to let children go hungry, let banks force people out of their homes, let sick people die for lack of access to healthcare. But the idea that billionaires could just be less rich - not poor, not struggling, just less rich - is considered insane."

America to escape his taxes. A lot of us back then were pissed. Still pissed to be honest w/ you, being that the fruits of all of our taxes enabled these insanely wealthy people to be able to accumulate this vast wealth, and nothing else, after all, if you didn't have a stable environment to operate businesses in (provided by all of us via our taxes for police, fire, etc.), then how are these businesses going to make money, if their customers can't safely go shopping, etc.?

The republican logic in defending these insane business leaders and / or businesses (allowing them to pay no taxes) are bankrupting this country, no less. The insane efforts to keep wages frozen at 1980s levels is criminal, with all attempts to increase wages hampered by republican naysayers.
