Last night, #NeverTrump started trending on Twitter and shows no real signs of slowing down. The bipartisan effort is almost inspiring, showing that people from all parties, religions, and races really can come together and stand united on an issue. It’s a beautiful Saturday afternoon, so maybe we could all take a second to imagine that this unification is what Donald Trump has been secretly working toward all along. When he called Mexicans rapists, insulted Megyn Kelly, and proposed banning all Muslims from entering the United States, maybe he was really trying to bring people together.
Theoretically, it refers to Republicans who refuse to support or vote for Trump.
Trump uses it the same way he does "fake news", as poo to throw at anything that fails to support him.
Personally, in my opinion they're the people responsible for Trump's presidency. The professionals among them spent their careers in Republican messaging and conservative media creating what is now Trump's base. They fostered the hatred of Democrats, the absolutism, the loathing of "backsliders" among them, the apocalyptic vision, the open hatred, and -- above all -- the information bubble that Trump simply walked into and took over. He's drag racing on the road they built, which they built to be
their road.
And the non-professionals are also responsible for him because they "could not vote for
that woman!" Both the Green and Libertarian Parties got about 3 times more votes than they did in 2012, but the Libertarians got three times what the Greens did. Every criticism about purity and swallowing propaganda directed at the Goobers also applies to the "reasonable" Republicans who voted for Johnson because they would not vote for Hillary, and they were the lion's share of the spoiler vote.
