1/ Trump said he'd give answers on all topics. He lied. He said "any time." He lied. He said he'd give answers face-to-face. He lied. When he finally answered on narrow topics in writing, he lied. Four strikes and you're out: the only testimony we should accept is LIVE and SWORN.

(81,475 posts)1. We're dealing with a congenital liar and hardened career criminal

2/ FUN FACT: If you're the *average* American and you swear on national TV multiple times that you have the world's best memory, you get impeached (the legal term for being discredited) *every time* thereafter, for the rest of your life, if as a witness you say you "don't recall"
3/ I am *livid* at the notion he's spooling up his cowardly and deceitful Lucy-and-the-football "I'll testify, honestly!" routine again. But I'm *not* surprised. When you let a hardened career criminal face no consequences for perjury, he will perjure himself over and over again.
4/ As for me calling him a hardened criminal: he's been lying under oath in civil depositions for decades, and we even have video evidence of him doing so. And when he lies, he lies about *crimes*. And we have decades of witnesses who say he committed fraud or theft against them.
5/ At some point, those senators who've represented hardened criminals as lawyers need to say publicly, "This man's history as a career criminal and serial perjurer is clear, and he'll be treated accordingly. We'll not pretend his offers of testimony are ever made in good faith."

He is the president and a billionaire thanks to his lying.
Why would he ever stop?
