THe Problem With Bloomberg's Apology

He was told, over and over by the police that it was a wrong policy and would prove to be a disaster. And it was because from then on the police had no inroads with the Black and Latino community and the resentment and anger created from the policy was huge and has not, even to this day, been repaired. But Bloomberg wouldn't listen, he knew better. Just like he wouldn't listen to other good advice he was given. What's to say if he was elected he would listen this time around?

and being made only because he is considering running for President (for Goddess knows what reason) and knows that he will need to attract African-American voters if he wants to have a change (although I don't think that he'll have much of a chance, anyway).

...including several times he floated the idea of a presidential run.

Yet he never said anything previously, and let the issue just bite him in the ass once he stopped merely floating trial balloons in moneyed circles and actually filed papers to get on the ballot.

Why one just might possibly think neither he nor his staff had given it a second thought and never even bothered to find out what people might see as his negatives.

He sounds as if this just occurred to him. But he was told. And told again. And told again and again. Why didn't he listen then?

And why should we think he'll listen now?
