House Judiciary tweet: marijuana laws disproportionately harm individuals and communities of color

House Judiciary Dems ✔ @HouseJudiciary

.@RepJerryNadler: Our marijuana laws disproportionately harm individuals and communities of color, leading to convictions that damage job prospects, access to housing and ability to vote. It’s time for us to remove the criminal prohibitions against marijuana at the federal level.

Considering that anti-marijuana, (which is a derogatory slang term) I mean, cannabis was never really a public health threat, but was about racism, corporate profits, (hemp vs. wood pulp) and various other factors, this is very late news.

There is nothing like putting people in prison for possession for "their own good" and the "good of the community" when it has the opposite effect and lives and families are destroyed and communities are impacted.

So, this admission comes far too late, but it is time to end the insanity of criminalization. It is not practical and the propaganda was never based on facts, but rather, profits and biases.

Oh, and while we are at it, it is high time to start aggressively promoting hemp crops across this country for dozens of great and sound reasons, economic and otherwise.

Thanks for the good news!
