Jeopardy to host Greatest of all Time Tournament starting Jan 7

Long-running trivia game show Jeopardy! will air a multi-night tournament event, “Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time,” in prime time on ABC starting January 7, the show announced on Monday.
The series of matches, hosted by Alex Trebek, will pit against one another the three players who took home the most cash in the game show’s history: Ken Jennings, Brad Rutter and James Holzhauer.
After a series of matches, the first to win three face-offs will bank $1 million.

Tournaments always seemed to be around the end of the season or beginning of the new season. This one would be smack in the middle.

Alex's successor is named (I'll absolutely never use the term "replacement" ), Jeopardy Nation does not go ape-shit with protest! This person will Alex's blessing and full-throated endorsement, so I hope that viewers will be willing to at least give them a chance to succeed on their own terms.
