What is the mission for the 2000 troops sent to Saudi?

When it was first announced I read there was concern because mission had not been defined. Has that changed? What sort of troops did they send? Special forces? Trainers or techs or something? And, what’s in it for Trump?

SGT. We had been talking for a while, when he got the orders, he is stationed in Germany, being deployed on the 15th of Dec. When we first discussed his deployment, I assumed he knew he was one of them. I got a message about a week ago, asking if I knew anything about Trump sending troops to Saudi Arabia. Turns out he had no idea he was being used in this way. I feel awful, the guy just had a week old baby girl.
