It would very nice if it was, but I doubt it.

I think it's more along the lines of Needy Amin bullyragging Senate Republicans and making sure their restraints and harnesses are still securely buckled in as the Trump Train plunges into Corruption Ravine.

Cash and fabulous prizes?

With Trump, it'll probably be a combination of attempted bribes and the threat of turning his rabid, toothless base against them.

He'll first want to know how they would vote in a trial, then ask them "what it would take" for them to support him if they're wavering. If they aren't forthcoming in their support, he'll give them the old "it'd be a shame if something happened to your political career".

I suspect that instead, they'll go mouthing off repeating the latest ridiculous ranting and raving that rump has come up with.

Maybe one day they'll grown a spine and act for Country, not rump, not party.

This would be the moment where the “establishment” republicans play their “resign, or we have the votes to convict you in the senate, and we will not hesitate to, because we are sick of your shit, and no, you don’t have a choice. Enjoy your eggs Benedict”. Then stand up and walk out of the breakfast.
