Trump's Pardons for Servicemen Raise Fears That Laws of War Are History

Army First Lt. Clint Lorance on Friday changed out of the drab inmate’s uniform he had worn for six years, and left the military prison at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas a free man. He arrived minutes later at a nearby hotel, where his family swallowed him in a group embrace, crying tears of joy.

“I want to say thank you to President Trump,” he said amid a throng of well-wishers. “And I want the rest of the country to do that, too.”

The president on Friday cleared Lieutenant Lorance and two other servicemen accused or convicted of war crimes, drawing cheers from thousands of supporters who said the men had been unfairly punished for decisions made in the confusion of war.

But many in the military, especially in military legal circles, are not celebrating. Mr. Trump’s reprieves, issued against the advice of top defense officials, were seen as a sign of disregard not only for the decisions of military juries, but for the judicial process itself.

This should be another impeachable offense.

and physical assault but NOT by a single MALE?

He is the biggest coward alive.

Joining our military now is a MAJOR problem because our enemy will say there are no rules AT ALL. Not that there were many to start with and not that some extremists care nothing about them, but now ALL bets are off, AMerican military are free game to our enemies.

The stupid fuck shits that support rump and support these acts dont know what they are doing, their own family members could suffer.

We are broken, too many of us are dumb and just bigoted.

Based on Trump's recent hospital visit, he may likely die soon from natural causes, so all these unethical orders of his are just temporary. It will be fun watching Biden, or Warren, or Pete, et al reversing all this Trump BS.

but with Trump out of office the Navy could still rescind his Trident badge for conduct unbecoming. Trump is stopping the Trident removal now, but the Navy Admirals will be around after he goes.

In the long run, Trump will be gone and it will be: 'America condones war crimes'.

Whenever America brings up enemy war crimes, they will have a ready-made response.

Donald has given them a strong propaganda tool.
