I am here for it. I hope they are able to get the unredacted portions.

(21,285 posts)where Republican Senators met with Trump to plan their anti-impeachment strategy, unbelievable they do this in the open.
I still say Dems need to keep the pressure on Barr, he is more dangerous than Trump. I expect him to come out with a made up conspiracy theory to change the narrative.

(16,616 posts)At the very least those should be unredacted and made public now. I agree, it's time to unredact the Mueller report, including that tantalizing last page that lists investigations handed off by Mueller.

(268,846 posts)Go Dems! Jordan was very careful yesterday not to suggest that Mueller cleared of the Con of Obstruction of Justice. I did notice that.
OOJ is an impeachable offense - Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Justice is coming, Don the Con is going to be impeached.

(7,367 posts)I'm listening to CSPAN callers and they are repeating all of Jordan's bs about how the Mueller probe produced nothing and was a hoax.
If they close the hearings before the Barr/Graham investigation it's over for 2020. They'll run out the clock and they have the advantage in getting narrative across through media.

(42,770 posts)Really be an issue all people would care about? Is it not the type of issue you impeach over?
I foresee some great headlines and the reactions of an average person working their ass off seeing how he is profiting from being president.

(86,502 posts)These are not separate cases. It's about a major plot to destroy democracy and more specifically, the US of A. At least a great deal of the investigation for the first chapter of this tale has been done and suppressed. So that wheel need not be reinvented.
Glad this will be conducted appropriately.

(9,213 posts)and they will have to flip. There is a very small amount of people who are sticking up and saying they wont testify, but imagine McConnell or Graham under oath, answering questions about Russian donations and stuff. THAT is when the Senate will flip.

(25,959 posts)To expect Senators to suddenly change their minds because it's the right thing to do is unrealistic in this political climate. To go to all the trouble of starting the impeachment process with no plan to combat that seems quixotic. Well, here's the other piece of the puzzle on how to get a more honest vote in the Senate: root out those who are complicit.
I've been swinging back and forth emotionally between "Yay! It's finally happening!" and "This is going to be a lot like Fitzmas, isn't it?" given the Senate situation. This just goes to show that more than one crowd in town can play the long game. It seems Pelosi, Schiff & co. have a long game set up and they are just getting started.
I'm back on the "Yay! It's finally happening!" train today.

(9,213 posts)An impeached Trump is a weakened Trump no matter how the trolls on DU spin it. Running a candidacy with an impeached candidate is just plain stupid, which is why Bloomberg jumped in to the race, he sees what's happening and knows he can get a lot of those Trump voters to switch over to him.
Second, is what I mentioned before...we KNOW there is more to this than Ukraine, actually I think the Ukraine thing is a very small and fairly insignificant piece of the puzzle, but the more they weave in the Russian stuff and various Senators and other Repubes the better it is for us and the country. I doubt the house will even have an impeachment vote before Feb 2020.

(56,828 posts)I've noticed that Trump has not really gotten into the headlines as much the past few weeks - it's been his deeds as reported by credible witnesses that have made the headlines.
Trump has been in reactionary mode instead of driving the news cycle.

(19,011 posts)They're still thinking that yesterday was the end of it all. The whining is going to be heard from outer space it will be so loud when Dems announce more rounds of hearings.
Personally, I think hearings should go through January. Dems still need to try to get the key players to give answers in front of the American people on Ukraine.
