Whatever color Texas is, everybody's running like it's purple

President Donald Trump has been to Texas seven times this year.

Michael Bloomberg will be on the Texas Democratic primary ballot for president.

Former San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro isn’t (politically) dead, though his shot at winning the Democratic presidential nomination is all but gone.

And Republican powers in Austin are assembling a political action committee to try to protect their majority in the Texas House.

All roads lead to this: Texas might not be blue — or even purple — but it will be competitive electoral ground in 2020.

You might not believe it, but it’s clear that the Democrats are ambitiously plotting to win seats in the congressional delegation and the Texas House in particular. And that the Republicans are planning defenses and recruiting voters in anticipation of a vigorous Democratic campaign.

National political money might get spent in Texas. That’s just weird. Texas is an ATM state — a place where political campaigns and candidates come to get the money they want to spend in exotic places like Iowa and South Carolina.

it was a great state to live in. Businesses doing well, government doing well, and no school shootings, you felt safe on the streets. A few years later we went to Virginia, and when we left after a few years, I called Virginia Nazi-land. such a contrast.

I've been here since the early 80s.

I have banged my head against the wall when the Democrats couldn't figure it out, never even ran candidates in a lot of races.

But now. All the metro areas are blue. All of them. Houston. Dallas. Austin. San Antonio. El Paso. We are fighting the gerrymandering. We're fighting the right wing money. We're getting there.

Just in my area:
The FEDDS (Funky East Dallas Democrats) - Our members are teachers, realtors, business owners, attorneys, care-givers, hair stylists, insurance agents, dog-walkers, interior designers, bartenders, housewives, artists, musicians, househusbands, retirees, college kids, and teenagers still in high school. We're a big mixed bag of dedicated individuals from throughout East Dallas representing every variety of good people in this wonderfully diverse community. Everyone is welcome! https://www.funkyeastdallasdemocrats.com

We are electing judges (That our awful repub gov. Abbot wants to stop us from doing) city councils and county commissioners. We're fighting!

The rural areas are just lost to the Fox propaganda. Which I don't understand. They have done nothing for them.

We have Indivisible down here..we also have a new group Blue Action Dems, but the Blue Action Dems don't really do activism. Blue Action Dems is more like Battleground Texas and act as a supplement to the local county parties.

I'm on their mailing list (I responded to one of those Trump surveys where we all trolled) But I didn't get much spam in 2018. Now they're calling me and sending constant emails.
