(19,066 posts)Americans live under the illusion that we have safer food than most developed countries, we dont. In fact we have a system where regulations are being stripped that make it less safe than most. And we have a system of mass production that makes it harder to pull the alarm lever. A bin with $100k worth of meat is a lot harder for workers to flag than a smaller producer would have with a bin with $5K in meat. Thats how it works. If you see a problem with that much value attached to it, its more likely it will get let go.
