Not worth it here in eastern NC, we really don't get that kind of snow, here In fact we really don't get winter here. Not like the winters in northern NY, where I grew up. My brother who lives up there, says winters are by and large milder, than they were in the mid -sixties.

4wd with chain on all four wheels might do fine, and Cody a lot less.

That said, a vehicle parked at the bottom of a serious hill with these installed would seriously convenient.

I lived in Montana up a 30 mile gravel road next to Glacier National Park for a couple winters. I had a rear wheel drive Toyota pick-up and a set of tire chains and had no trouble getting around.

I do think these would be a great accessory for folks with the Tesla PU.

something like this is extremely few and far between. As anyone who has had to put chains on their FWD--even with snow tires or even 4WD if your tires don't meet the tread criteria- in order to meet the current I-70 chain laws will tell you, once there is any degree of plowing whatsoever, this kind of thing would be rendered useless and you would HAVE to stop and pull them off.

Just a gimmick, IMHO. And if they were using them to go off-road, I hope the Dept of Wildlife nails them for harassing wildlife that is already stressed this time of year. (and yes, they CAN and they DO enforce such restrictions).
