The day the Republicans in the Senate read the Article's of Impeachment.

That will be a day when the reality of what they are going to attempt to defend, judge, in a trial will hit home. On that day, shit will get very real.

On that day they will read Article's of Impeachment that will be brutal and indefensible. They will realize they have to defend, judge and vote against the indefensible in front of the entire nation. They will realize the trial will not be good for the party or for themselves. The entire Trump defense will be about a conspiracy theory and lie's. The prosecution's case will be about facts. People who are guilty of committing crimes or who witnessed crimes will be forced to testify. That will not go well. They may take the 5th, but that is an admission of guilt. It won't look good.

If I were the Republican's ( I would consider suicide) I would not want to go to trial. I would not want to take a vote. I would want it to go away. I would look for a way out.

The Republican's in the Senate do have a way out. A way out they have used before with Nixon. Force Trump to resign. I am still hoping the Republican's realize this is the best path forward for them, the people and the nation.

Why can't they see this? Do the Republicans want to live another 4 years of hell?

8. Really - Will The Repug Problems Go Away?....

I think not because the Dems have just as good a campaign to run against the Repugs as they have to run against Trump.

Just look at the Repugs policies on immigration; healthcare; social security; taxation; judges; infrastructure; money in politics; gerrymandering; etc and all the stonewalling McConnell has done to prevent any good programs that the Dems in the House passed on to the Senate from becoming law.

And even if a group of Repugs march into the WH and get Trump to resign - it's too little too late. They supported this criminal and his criminal administration since he became their nominee and eventually won the presidency with the help of the Russians.

The Dems have enough material beyond Trump to make the Repug Party disappear.

will never turn on them. They are in too deep now to do anything but double down and hope for the best.

4. How can hoping for the best be more Trump?

They must realize Trump will commit more crimes if he is not removed. They must realize the entire nation will be watching the trial. A trial that will prove Trump is guilty as you can get and must be removed.

Their base doesn’t vote because of facts it votes because of fear. As long as they believe Twitler is keeping the not white, not male people at bay, they will continue to support Twitler and the repubs.

6. They do care about one thing, their jobs.

They are Senator's, they have to answer to their entire state, not just a gerrymandered nutbag, tea party, Trump district. This is the reason I believe they will not want to take a vote. They lose either way they vote. If they vote to convict their base will vote them out in a primary. If they vote not to convict they win the primary and then they could lose in the general election.

Their best option is not to vote.

If the Democrats play the impeachment process effectively, the brutal reality that you describe will be plain to see.

On the other hand, I wouldn't put anything past McConnell. He's a dirty bastard. Look what he pulled with Merrick Garland's SCOTUS nomination.

7. Repugs are traitors and just don't give a shit about the country, it's laws or it's people.

Power is the only thing they give fealty to and will do anything to keep it, even giving power to Russia. They will NOT force drumpf to resign unless they hear from Bolton or someone else of his ilk and they won't testify because of obstruction by the criminals at the top. Courts have way more repugs than Dems and so are dragging their feet, or they rule and it just gets appealed. SCOTUS is in no hurry, they are filled with Russian Repug traitors as well.

Senate will drag in HUnter Biden, Joe Biden, Ukraine criminals and try to sell us some lies as facts. Will Dems be allowed to rebut their lies? Will Barr/drumpf produce evidence requested by repugs but not Dems and what will Roberts do about it? He and SCOTUS are the only people who can save us, but will they instead welcome in the dictatorship of the rw by destroying the constitution?

If McConnell can, again not sure of the rules, he will hold a sham pretense, not allow Dems to bring in real witnesses and won't address the real issues. Just hope this will not be allowed, but not holding my breath either.
