Will be good to have public hearings about Trump's obstructing the Russia investigation before taking a vote on impeachment.

Remember that the original Watergate investigation in 1972 was massively obstructed. The US Attorney's office was only able to get 7 convictions/guilty pleas (against Liddy, Hunt, McCord, and four other Watergate burglars) in early 1973. However, it was because of Judge John Sirica and the Washington Post (primarily) that we learned the original investigation was stymied by an enormous cover-up.

It eventually led straight to Nixon and his closest aides.

If you take the Russia investigation and analogize it to Watergate, Mueller equals the DC US Attorney that couldn't break the Watergate case past the 7 original defendants. Hopefully more investigation by the House will demonstrate the ongoing cover-up for the Russia election interference investigation. IMHO, it's precisely because of Trump's obstruction of the Russian interference investigation that the real truth hasn't yet been exposed.

I doubt it will be before 2020. There are only a couple of weeks before Congress takes off for the rest of the year.

And then campaign time gets started. They'll get to it, but I don't expect any vote until early spring.

they want to be able to judge the status of getting Trump's tax returns and financial documents, as well as for SCOTUS to rule on the BS immunity claims from Team Trump - put Bolton, McGahn and others on the stand (Nunes, Giuliani?)

Some suggest it will occur before the end of the year. Others think it will take longer because of new facts coming out and pending legal cases. We shall see.
