Each time I saw Trump’s enablers in the White House, in the halls of Congress, in the media and elsewhere fail to stand up for their country when given the opportunity, I blamed cowardice to a large degree.

What has become evident is that these flag-draped thugs have a dangerous disregard for who we are and what we stand for. They don’t have an ounce of respect for anything they pretend to honor. They have betrayed the American people, the military, the justice system, the State Department, their oaths, the Constitution, our flag, the rule of law and beyond. There is no institution they haven’t sullied, no rule they haven’t broken, no standard they haven’t spit on. Cowardice is just a part of it.

How sickening it is to watch so many people fondle fascism as though it was a canvas bag full of gold.

There have been many studies about personality types that are attracted to authoritarianism and fascism. There was an article I read some time ago written by a psychology researcher who stated that in any country/culture about 30% of people have "authoritarian personalities."

Trump is the lightbulb that attracts all the moths.
