The facts and proper motivations for impeachment are on our side.
It’s time that we all pay closer attention to the impeachment hearings of President Trump and his upcoming trial in the Senate. It is easy to become confused by all the rhetoric.
I suggest that we concentrate on two things: who is proving their case with facts and what is the motivation on each side.
Democrats on the Intelligence Committee have brought forth non-partisan, career diplomats to state the facts of what they witnessed, which was clearly directed by the President. Legal experts have testified to the Judiciary Committee as to the Constitutional basis with which impeachment is justified.
Republicans on both committees have only reacted with lies, emotion and name calling. The facts have not been disputed.
More importantly, the motivations on each side must be considered. Republicans warn, by impeaching the President, Democrats are endangering their reelection. Clearly the motivation for Republicans is to maintain their own power in congress and to protect one man: Donald J. Trump. Their loyalty is to only one man.
The Democrat’s motivation is to unselfishly honor their oath of office to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States”. Their loyalty is to the nation.
It is our duty to communicate to our representatives which side is on the right side of history.
