to thwart the people's business and interests soon enough. But his is a loose end. There's a lot of us on DU who are tired of the process (not me, its working very well) who might compromise a Pence for a Trump thinking "he couldn't do no worse." I think Pence scares me worse than Trump. Pence actually thinks he's called by Jehovah to rule over a "Christian" USA. As a christian, that worries me. All these years and so many worthy men and the only one G*d the Father taps is Mikey Pence?

Look at how much better W seems since Trump. Even Michele Obama likes him. I'm concerned that Pence polishes up in the same way: compared to Trump.

He believes only he channels G*d's will.

remove him from office. Unless he resigns, he will be IMPEACHED by the House of Representatives on Wednesday and he''ll carry that fact to the grave and beyond.

Impeachment only means that a trial will be held in the senate

It's basically like filing charges and then being found not guilty.

Bill Clinton was also acquitted.

ETA: Trump has had numerous suits filed against him and lost. The latest was child charities fraud. These are civil cases and from a legal standpoint don't mean anything, except that he has to pay a fine. He is also facing sexual harassment lawsuits. If he loses that one, he will also only pay a settlement to the the woman who is suing him. So far these civil suits have not hurt him politically.

I can’t see him being impeached, resigning with a deal to avoid jail is his only way out. One thing for sure, whatever is best for him he will do.

Going away is a good idea. Declare victory and go home.

Some posters seem pleased that impeachment is something akin to a rolling victory. It’s as if we are certain that impeachment will somehow change the calculus, and that Trumpy will be humiliated and humbled. And that’s a good thing.

But we don’t see that in Trumpy’s behavior pattern. Instead, we should be anticipating that Trumpy will go on a vengeance-obsessed rampage, an Adderal-soaked grievance tirade and declare himself an exonerated Dictator. The Senate will give him the gift of full throated acquittal, and the White House staff will be ecstatic. And onward Trumpy will go, free from this co-equal branches “nonsense” and free from Congressional oversight. He’ll go full speed ahead to the next rigged election.

Marty the Greek has a wager, always had, that he would resign. I thought it would be six months. Recall when DJT was set to lose for a period and the rumor was that he was just gonna promote his Trump TV with rusky backing. So, here we are, fall back plan. In his mind anyway. Senate could pull a Cesar, with all the hits the GOP has taken under him is a possibility. I can't see how the Senate in whole will submit to the dictator, but that's a possibility. Republicans will be tar feathered for history for supporting Trump!

To the ether: DJT, Do the right thing! At least for Princess Ivanka!
