A far left magazine, or very “progressive,” as some would call it, which has been doing poorly and hasn’t been involved with the Billy Graham family for many years, Christianity Today, knows nothing about reading a perfect transcript of a routine phone call and would rather.....

12. Well, Christianity Today's general stance is about as far to the 'left' as Pence's

(they are, for instance, anti-LGBT - this must be the first time anyone has called them 'far left' or 'progressive'). If he's going to show complete ignorance of what Christianity Today thinks, he may as well show complete ignorance of what his VP thinks too.

We know that he just verbally panders to the base with whatever buzz words or wedge issues he thinks will glue them to his ass.

However, that should be done with some caution and finesse, at least.

Sure, there are going to be folks who have a confirmation bias strong enough to only hear what they want to and believe him, but he is really pushing a line as far as how obvious his lip service is to bible and gun crowd as he refers to himself obsessively. Even using the wrong letters to refer to the magazine and the suggestion that he actually reads the rag could even seem dubious.
