Well, this is pretty terrifying...

When the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court has to urge judges to do their job we be fucked.

Pretty remarkable:
“Chief Justice John Roberts urged his fellow federal judges Tuesday to promote confidence in the judiciary and maintain the public's trust.”

would also help. Since judges recommended by them have a RW ideology and we all know that they are not fair or impartial.

named Chief Justice. THAT was the politicization of SCOTUS. The 2000 recount that Roberts played a key role in overturning, with the help of Rehnquist and Sandra Day O'Connor.

Incompetence isn't the half of it.

Judges by overturning their rulings even if he wanted to because only a tiny fraction of lower court cases ever reach the Supreme Court.

It's a little known part of CJ job, setting an example and expecting judges to adhere to standards. Like everything else, no one ever had to question it before. We're likely to continue with a functioning judiciary, but I see litigation as constant with numerous reversals as issues reverberate off pre- and post- Trump judges. It will be awhile before this all settles down, like maybe 10-15 years.

Worse than terrifying.

This enabler has no power or authority to do a thing to stem the tide of extreme ideological ROT that has infected the federal judiciary by design. Whether it be Koch-fueled libertarians or "Federalist" (in name only) Society plants who, in fact, stand in opposition to the maturation and fruition of original foundational principles, "justice" as an objective concept anchored in reason and premised on precedent is under full assault.

As chief justice on the highest court, it is his RULINGS that will determine whether this nation's highest ideals and principles will flourish--or flounder. While there is some evidence for hope, his equivocation and milquetoast stances on many matters are cause for great concern.

Certainly, we could be in better hands.
