Collins has no Republican challengers right now. It'd be wonderful if public awareness of his corruption, abandonment of all principles, and betrayal of his duty caused a principled conservative to jump in. People who know him don't recognize the character he's playing on TV.

Democrats have two candidates running for congress, Antwon Stephens and Dan Wilson. Also unfortunately, the 9th is among the most conservative districts in the nation, sometimes in the top single digits in ratings of thousands of districts, usually in the teens. Democrats run because people should have good choices, not just scum like Collins and his ilk.

voted for Obama and then Trump. And there are others.

Even more, Georgia's a swing state, really could finally go blue. A third of of Georgians are AA, a third of whites vote Democrat. Heck, even in Collins' blood-red, heavily white district across beautiful north Georgia, 20% of us voted Democrat against him.

And of course, without massive, massive election suppression and theft around many areas of the state, we might well have elected our first Democratic governor, black and female to boot. (52-48.8%)

GEORGIA 14 $1,050,000 Georgia 7, Georgia Tech 5, Georgia Southern 2

at $1000/hr x 15 hrs/day x 5 days makes each station worth $75,000/week to collins and other GA republicans

all those stations support GA republicans like the asshole collins

if protests pushed one of those unis was pushed to discuss the stupidity of broadcasting sports on stations that deny global warming and sell pols who want to defund public education, the others would be shamed into at least discussing it - and advertisers on all GA republican stations would head for the hills.

some or many of those stations would have to change programming to keep advertisers

trump and reps like collins are fuckign dittoheads. they can't do shit without dems ignoring talk radio

covers a lot of real estate in north Georgia. Even some potentially liberal pockets in 6 and 7 were pushed in to attempt to keep districts 7 and 6 safe.

There were several really good Democrats that ran two years ago. I'm not certain the strongest on paper won to face off Collins in the general. My guess is that the state D party has given up on our district.

make a difference. Note that Preet spoke of sending his own money because he knows that, by definition, it must be badly needed. We're liberals in a very politically corrupt state that's always been controlled by conservatives.

Our district not too long ago had a couple of elections without any Don Quixotes, but since then each time candidates have invested enormous personal effort and whatever donations we sent them to at least give our district a choice. In the midterms 20% of us voted Democrat against Collins. Good for us for riding out to tilt, but let's face it, the demographic realities don't exactly make trying to help us flip our district a priority investment for the state.

Lol, just noticed one evaluation rates the 9th district THIRD most "Republican" in the nation for 2018, out of 435.

And he’s DESPERATE to outdo and outshine President Obama.

And he will NEVER be able to outdo OR outshine President Obama.

He will NEVER even be worthy to touch the hem of President Obama’s trouser leg.

Maybe President Obama’s skin color is dark. But trump’s heart is black as doom (assuming, of course, that he even has one).

Collins won by 59 points in 2018, so it's a VERY RED district. He had no Democratic challenger in 2016 and won by 61 points in 2014.

hasn't carried more than 25% of the vote in that district. I live in Georgia and will say that in my opinion throwing money at a congressional seat in District 9 would not yield the results everyone wants. Collins would have to get caught in bed with the Ayatollah to lose. That doesn't mean we ignore the district, but apply the resources in impacting localities and building a base.

Trump/GOP said white nationalists are very fine people after committing violence against Americans on American soil multiple times, because they support him. Some of them are definitely domestic terrorists.

<snip>
The families of 17 service members who died fighting for the U.S. demanded an apology from Donald Trump on Monday, accusing him of "cheapening the sacrifice made by those we lost."

They said the Republican presidential nominee's suggestion that the Muslim mother of a U.S. soldier who died in Iraq had not “been allowed” to speak at the Democratic National Convention was akin to "attacking us."

A letter signed by the Gold Star families — the term for those who have lost loved ones during military service — also called Trump’s comments "repugnant, and personally offensive."

"When you question a mother's pain, by implying that her religion, not her grief, kept her from addressing an arena of people, you are attacking us," the letter added. "When you say your job building buildings is akin to our sacrifice, you are attacking our sacrifice."

Did he inherit a fortune like Donny Dufus and buy his way into those things? Somebody's screening practices have failed miserably.
