Herr Drumpf is beginning to lose respect from even some GOP Senators.

Perhaps it's finally becoming clear that the man is not fit for the presidency. We're coming up on an impeachment trial of the man. This Iran debacle won't be considered officially, but there's nothing to stop Senators from voting to remove him, based on their overall judgment of the man, and the potentially horrendous risks he represents.

I'm somewhat hopeful that a number of Republicans will do so, in the hopes that a President Pence might bring a little sanity to the White House. That's unlikely, but even he would be better than Trump.

If you have a Republican Senator in your state, or even two, consider pointing that out to him, her, or them. With one vote, they can solve a major problem that could damage their own chances of re-election. Ask them to do the right thing with regard to Donald J. Trump.

We have a fleeting opportunity in the Senate impeachment trial. It's worth investing some time in seeing if enough Senators are susceptible to influence to change the result.

It might well not work. It probably won't work. However, if we don't try, I guarantee it won't work.

You will do as you think best, no doubt.

And, as far as I'm concerned, that would be far better than anything Trump might do. Trump has the potential to do something truly disastrous, and at a moment's notice. I think anything that might help prevent that, even a long shot, is worth doing. You might feel differently. But, this is my thread, and my opinion.

November 3, and even then, not until January 21, 2021. The best we can do before then is to limit the risks of keeping Trump in the White House. We might not succeed, but we must try. "Needs must," as they say in the UK.

Think about this:

If we can somehow engineer or influence Trump's removal from office, he will not be on the ballot in November. That would almost guarantee a huge win for our Democratic Nominee, and would probably guarantee regaining a majority in the Senate. Without Trump on the ballot, the White House is ours.

That alone makes all efforts worthwhile. We might not succeed, but we should damn sure try our best.

should be impeached and the Speaker of the House should be placed in that office. However, the chance of that happening are remote at best. Only half of the Senate gives a feck about the rule of law or upholding your constitution.

We need to really put the pressure on Republican Senators to do the right thing. Most probably won’t but if we could convince four or five, getting a majority favoring removal, it will send a strong message.

Even if all we accomplish is to get witnesses and documents introduced in the trial, that will present more evidence to others who might possible be convinced to throw the Trump bum out. That's the goal. He's too dangerous to stay in office for the rest of this year. Who knows what he might do, or attempt to do?

and his insanity would be discussed openly, finally.

i remember waiting for people to start calling him a liar. timidly at first, w few exceptions, but now it's- well, of course he is lying.
people are talking more and more about the state of his brain.

i think the end may be nigh.
it was also going to crash hard and fast. so lets hope the time gets here in time.

I saw their faces telling a story. They are horrified at Trump's off-balance impetuosity. They're worried about what he might do. I'm worried about what he might do. We all should be. As Commander-in-Chief, he has enormous power to do things that will throw the entire world into turmoil.

The Senate can end that risk with a 2/3 vote to remove him. The tools are in their hands. We should be helping them to decide, whether we like them or not. We can do that, if we will in large enough numbers. I suggest we start immediately.

there is complete turmoil at the pentagon right now, imho.
i dont expect a revolt or a coup, but i do expect some senators to get an earful.

i hope they will start refusing his orders, but...

but i think there are more than a few whispers behind the scene.
plus- the military does have a card to play. dr ronnie feelgood may have buried the records of that phony exam, but i doubt they were destroyed.
they could leak them at any time.
and they could do it safely, through channels. or at least try.

there really should be an article on his fitness.
