I was 22 years old in '62.
A buddy and I had a '55 Chevy drag race car with a financial sponsor back in those days.
I could lift the left front wheel on take off.
Raced on all the So Cal drag strips.
San Fernando Drag Strip was our 'home' track.
We raced against some of those factory sponsored 409 Chevys.
We were quick. Always got beat.

GM built a limited edition designed just for the drags.
Aluminum front fenders and hood, tiny front brakes no rear seat, plexi glass windows, amongst other weight saving stuff.
