Call the cowards Vichy Republicans.

Update: Wow, have a little faith in your fellow Americans. They’ve got Grandpas and have been to the movies even if they aren’t fluent in our history.

More to the point, the very dumbest folks are not the only target and if they were I might agree. The middle is where the battle is won or lost, people.

Onward.

It’s exactly what they are and capital D Dumbass can’t even look it up in a dictionary.

It always irks the hell out of me when he gives people those childish, mean and idiotic nicknames but this one needs to be branded on them.

Call them Vichy Republicans- it’s just what they are.

Bingo! No sense trying to be intellectual with the dumbest people in America (and the world?) LonePirate Jan 2020 #6
I'm not trying to be intellectual, I'm calling them out. mahina Jan 2020 #10
Except you cannot call them out using a reference that has no meaning to them. LonePirate Jan 2020 #11

They don’t have a clue what/where/who Vichy was.

You’re projecting historical knowledge context onto a group that thinks the south won the Civil War with superior air power.

You’re telling them an inside joke they do not understand and never will. Call outs need to be understood by the target audience and they have no idea what you are saying here. They might think you are complimenting them and if so, your call out has failed.

Most people with the historical knowledge and insight to understand about Vichy France probably are already aware of how awful the Republicans are.

The reference is completely lost on most people which renders your comment ineffective. Anyone who knows what a Vichy Republican is likely already agrees with you.

Only a very tiny percentage of people know what it means. So, not a very effective slogan.
