If you get the privilege to drive the winter wonderland of Alaska in the winter, you may get lucky and see moose licking road salt from the highway. I drove up over a rise in the road in Gulkana once and saw 3 moose side by side with their butts in the air enjoying the road salt treat.

An Alaskan DU'er could probably verify how often they see this happen, but I don't see Alaska DU'er roguevalley, Arctic Dave, Blue in Alaska, etc. here anymore.

Meh, I've got deer all around my property, and I live right inside the city limits of Pittsburgh.

To me they're a nuisance because they eat my daylilies all summer long. Plus my dog is always wanting to chase the deer whenever he sees them. They just trample on everyone's property and eat our landscaping bushes in the winter months.

Our deer friends.....the does are always named Jane, and the bucks are John. The whole Deer family. Fawns in the spring/summer, sometimes twins. They share the horses' salt block and water trough.

I always worry about them during deer season, when you can hear the hunters plugging away. Hell, I worry about my horses!
