I think if drumpf wins again

it will kill me.

Just reading about him makes me short of breath. I'm not getting any younger. I try to hold onto the amazing warriors for democracy in our country and world, but this is a physical reaction. I basically fainted on election night.

I resolve to be more attentive to self-care this year.

I've just been rereading "The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump" (the updated and revised edition). A number of the essays focus on what this has done to our mental and physical well-being. Even some of the therapists writing in this book admit they, too, are suffering exactly like their patients. Better self-care is discussed and recommended in at least one of the essays.

Treat it like working in a nuke plant and don't let yourself get too many rads.

All things considered, (the full blown authoritarian assault on our government and democracy) I know how you feel.

This is our first real foray into Fascist dictator-land and I it seems that it is so foreign to our general experience and understanding here that that gives it even more impetus and leeway to continue. However, I think it is rather safe to say now, responsibly and practically speaking, that we are living through our own brand/version of what transpired in other situations as per Hitler, Mussolini and the rest. Often, citing that is hair on fire, chicken little sensationalism, but the time has come to recognize it.

Yes, I am older now and would rather not see that outcome and what kind of brutal, fabricated Mc1984 it will unleash, especially if it is the outcome of too many people forgetting the past as dire warning and having not taken George Orwell seriously when he penned the brightest red flashing beacon and loudest, blaring klaxon you could ever want as a means of prevention. That makes it even more somber, dark and troubling.

We are at a juncture now. This needs to be reckoned with. It can't happen here? It is.

seems likely Trump will attempt to extend his reign past the 2nd term (if he lives that long).

to weasel his way into the White House. I don't know how I'll get through another election season without having a stroke, and there is no way I can avoid getting involved. . . Ugh. I hope anti-hypertensives are effective!

And in my conservative town, I don't even feel like I can bring it up with my GP. May need to change doctors.... considering a naturopath.

let's hang together.

Your husband was probably horrified by your disclosure. I guess I won't even share with mine...

Maybe we can form an intentional DU support group? It's kinda what we do here, anyway, for the most part...

I don't think his opposition are employing the right strategy to counter his total depravity of the office and the country.

Switch off cable news and live your life, then vote when it matters.

Then it means what you think I mean it to mean, though a '50% chance' would obviously be more accurate, for those easily prone to confusion.

For example: With Warren as the nominee, I'd say Trumps chance at reelection is 75/25.

I hope all is clear.

At the age of 80 I find myself far more anxious than in my younger years. I keep breaking out in shingles lately and I can't help but wonder if Trump is the reason. I have a visceral reaction when I see him on television!

I will need to crawl under a rock somewhere to survive another 4 years of this stuff. My BP meds have already been increased and I need sleep meds from time to time. I am glad I am the age I am, what the country will be like after 8 years of this con man is beyond imagination.

Last year (especially after we took the House), I was sure he would lose in a landslide. Now, not so much. He hasn't gone down in the polls since then. If face, he's up a little.

America will officially be a dictatorship at that point. I want to move to another country, but I have no where I can go except Israel and they're as screwed up as America.
