In the Clinton impeachment process, 66 witnesses were allowed to testify including 3 in the Senate trial, and 90,000 pages of documents were turned over.

10. Pelosi knows what she's doing

Lately, I've found myself laughing out loud every time I hear a TV pundit say stupid shit like, "Her gambit to hold turning over the articles of impeachment has backfired." They, of course, go on to justify their statements with the "evidence" that Moscow Mitch & Senate Rethugs are unchanged, which only puts an exclamation mark on the pundits' stupidity. Pelosi's play is & always has been to effectuate a Democratic takeover of the Senate in 2020. It's not about trying to force Rethugs to play nice or even about Trump himself. Keeping that in mind, look more closely at what she just said. Her use of the term "coverup" is masterful. She's framing Senate Rethugs as co-conspirators to a cover-up...that's the kind of messaging that seeps into the ethos to upend red seats. Don't despair Mr. Lebowski. Nancy's always playing the long game.
