To know that your entire political world view that you've held your entire life has all been devastatingly been proven to be a lie, a sham, anything but patriotic and nothing but that of a low-life grifter.

I think many of that ilk have secretly longed for the disappearance of any vestiges of one person, one vote. They would like to go back to their perceived "good ole" days when wealthy white men ruled.

Which mystifies me why so many poor whites support them. Hopes for riches magically?

I've thrown this in some of their faces, with variations of how I've written it here, laughing as I go. They get pissed, red-faced head exploding pissed. It stings like no snake oil they've had applied to them, apparently. Which just makes me laugh at them even more. ha-ha-ha-ha

Damn it feels good!

Poor people consider themselves in the latter category. If you vote for the Democrats, they're going to take away all the money you've convinced yourself you're going to have in the future.

Works every time.

IMO, most Republican voters are so brainwashed and self-contained in their right-wing bubble, nothing short of a total collapse of that bubble (including the support of thousands of evangelical churches) will cause any change in their daily reasoning. I think most have been trained like robots to completely disregard anything they hear that contradicts what they hear from within their bubble.

I've known a lot of those people over many years and it's a phenomena that baffles me every day. Yet as I think it over, I keep going back to when I read overviews of a Spiro Agnew speeches in the South, or the first time I overheard Limbaugh on someone's radio, or heard things Gingrich said on the news, when I sum it all up perhaps it shouldn't be a surprise. They really do live in a different, isolated world.

Maybe a few will be shaken to their senses like you suggest. We can only hope.......

life long Republican voters have their heads down their toilet right now throwing up their breakfast, lunch or dinner from the poison they have ingested from Trump and Fox News over the years?
There's got to be some allergic reaction to all the Kool Aid they have been fed over the years.

Looks like ffr above beat me to it . . . lol

But, how do we effect meaningful change from this?

The brunt of the work lies ahead.

The victory we seek, equality and liberty, require a great deal of work.

I am all in. Always have been.
