It used to be 8th grade, when my grandfather was young. Now it's 12. Why, in this "knowledge economy" can't we fund public education through community college, trade school, or even a 4 year degree -- like France, Germany, Norway, Finland, Sweden, and Slovania do?
Students would not need to take on exorbitant loans if we offered free public education beyond Grade 12.

(50,557 posts)College education is quickly becoming a requirement for military service. In the Army, you'll never make it past Staff Sergeant without at least an Associate's degree, and every First Sergeant I ever knew had at least a bachelor's.

(54,770 posts)colleges are affordable, etc. But, everyone should be able to attend a decent college. Im fine with Ivy League schools charging more, but a basic college education should be available and affordable.
