By Madeline Holcombe, CNN

Snip--
One-pound vacuum-packed packages containing lot code "0060," case code "11402" and a use or freeze by date of "01/31/2020" on the product label are subject to the recall, the department said.

The products were produced January 6 and shipped to retail locations in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, FSIS said.

It is easy for people like many of us to lose sight of that fact. A $3 difference in price for the same weight of beef makes a big difference to people that have limited incomes. I would never buy prepackaged beef, but for many Americans, such a choice is more difficult financially.

We too are on a limited income. That is why we choose to fine tooth come our Grocery ads every week. At this juncture in time, every Grocery Chain is footballing Ground Beef because of the glut of Hamburger Cows coming to market and winter Hay supplies are mega short.

Protein under 3 bucks is a steal. EXample, this Thursday at Costco,2.47 85/15 Ground beef in Approximately 6 pound packages. Albertson/Vons /Safeway/Ralphs Friday hot deal 85/15 ground beef 2.47. Both mentioned do not regrind those bulk tubes of Packinghouse Ground beef.

Just a suggestion.

to the cost dynamics. But I was raised poor and was structurally bankrupt a few short years back, so I have seen a lot about how people that don't have a lot of money make food choices. Current ground beef prices, using your data are abnormal, and I doubt that the people that buy prepackaged ground beef notice much, other than maybe stuff is on "sale" more.

I personally eat low fat chicken, and I can tell you that the prices there are not low, just this week I paid $18+ for six boneless/skinless/split chicken breasts, but I can get away with that because I have the available money, I am single, and the six breasts make six nice meals, along with a good amount of homemade chicken salad.

When I was feeding my epileptic dogs a raw food diet, I was surprised to learn how easy it was to grind my own beef using a food processor.

With a note, something like "False news, great for hamburders, will grow some hair on your head and make you taller" maybe?
