Mean drunks lack the ability to consider the future consequences of their current actions

Study reveals who's more prone to be a 'mean drunk'

By Robert Preidt, HealthDayUpdated 1d 3h ago

People who lack the ability to consider the future consequences of their current actions are more likely to be aggressive when they're drunk, a new study indicates.

----------------------------

Anyone ever know any mean drunks? I worked with a guy who was a mean drunk. I never seen the guys mean or drunk side though. I didn't even know he was a mean drunk until someone told me one day. Now this guy was about as nice a person you would ever want to know in your life at work. He would do anything for you. Quiet guy too. Didn't say a lot but when he did it was low key. But a very big man. Professional football player size. Name was Jim so naturally we all called him Big Jim. I have seen him swing an 8-pound sledge hammer for the part of 8 hours and never get tired. Hour of that for me and things became dangerous for everyone around me.

Well you could be this guys best friend whom he had known since he was a kid and after a few drinks he would kick your ass. Just a few drinks was all it took. I was told you could watch it coming over him in his face. He just looked meaner and meaner every sip he took.

Well, when I was told this story I didn't believe it. Mainly because I had never seen any signs on this guy having been in any bar fights, like scratches or black eyes that the other fighters came to work with after a night out on the town some times. I questioned that to the person who told me about Jim. He said this guys fights ended real fast. Not a lot of exchanging of blows involved. He said it usually ended with first round knockouts if the other person was stupid enough to fight someone Jims size to begin with.

Watched a lot of marriages crash and burn where alcohol was a contributing factor.
